Ululone Bridge

Trento, Italy

Project Summary:

The creation of the lighting system for this bridge is a true record in terms of eco-sustainability: home to the special eco-system of the “Ululone” (or yellow-bellied) toad, an extremely rare, endangered species, the bridge required an efficient yet minimally invasive intervention. The solution involved fitting a series of installations, with operating temperatures that never exceed 50°C, directly to the architectural structures of the bridge.

22 Ledway Wall luminaires, each with 3 LED modules for a total of 60 LED per device, were installed directly onto the architectural elements of the bridge at various heights with an interdistance of 22 m. The fixtures feature asymmetric PR optics.

Project Values:

18 lux average ground luminance, overall uniformity Uo=0.44
